Maybe there are homes out there like this but not around me. Most husbands try to share chores with their wives. Surprisingly to me, even older husbands I know--men in their 60s and 70s--have been good about doing the dishes if the wife makes the meal and helping with sweeping, etc. Second, on the downside, way too many Moms I know in the younger generation simply don't take up a lot of responsibilities. They are constantly taking the kids out to dinner and not doing housework. The article sounds like a typical male-bashing, "women are martyrs" article.
The activity that most often takes me away from parenting is earning 90% of the family’s income, and 100% of the insurance and bennies.
I may not be good at parenting, but I’m pretty good at drinking beer.
It is my experience that we also do most of the housework, even if we are as gainfully employed as the man in the house. It’s a pretty typical scenario that both man and woman come home tired, and the man sits down in front of the computer or TV, while the woman starts her second shift of cleaning, laundering, food prep, etc. Of course, dozens of male freepers will chime in to say that they are not at all like that, but I never know if they are for real or not.
From the headline, you'd think Moms belong to some union.
“Moms spend 1150 more hours parenting than dads”
To think this is a bad thing is to throw reality out for the sake of Feminist propaganda.
