they either try to remain faithful to God’s will one day at at a time and beg his mercy when they lapse.
Or they become ordinary hypocrites.

LadyDoc, you are missing the critical issue of repentance.
Those of us who are liars, greedy, etc., can’t go around saying it’s ok with God for us to do that. We must acknowledge it as sin, and resist it. We must repent - repentance is non-negotiable in the Christian life.
To insist that your homosexual behavior is ok is not repentance.
