All I said was that THEY don’t seem to need my permission to go to church since they’ve been going to church all their lives? Or to live their lives the way they want to. And, if you’re a Christian, YOU know as well as I do that there’s a higher power than mine that is in charge of the dispensation as to whether they’re living right or not.
What I do not "get" is why your gay relatives should be interested in obtaining YOUR permission for anything. Oh I see, you are really saying something quite else, aren't you, as in: "No one has the right to question the moral standing before God of my gay relatives." Something like that, no?
You are quite right that there exists a "higher power" who will judge each of us. What is missing in your post is an acknowledgment that this "higher power" has spoken. In the words of Francis Schaeffer: He is there and He is not silent.
God has spoken through His Word to us, but you know all that... What perhaps you should consider is that we are not free to take an "ala carte" attitude towards Scripture, picking and choosing only that which agrees with our "modern sensibilities."
You surely are also well aware that Holy Scripture is unequivocal regarding the sinfulness of homosexual behavior. Thus it is thus irrelevant how "happy" your gay relatives are, or even how long they have attended church - even "with their partner." Homosexual behavior is called an "abomination" - this directly from the "Higher Power."
God does not take pleasure in the death of the unrighteous, and neither should we. However, ours is not to in any way "justify" that which God has condemned.
Look, you go enjoy your piety and your hatred. I am not going to join you in it. I cannot stand in piety because I know I’m just a humble human struggling through this life just like my family members are, whom I am going to enjoy because they are my family, and I am going to render to God the job that he claims is his...judgment. Just like He spoke in His words...
Remember? “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Remember the whore who was also practicing deviant sex out of the bounds of God’s instructions?
Remember? Matt 7:2-5 “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged....How can you say to your brother, Let me take the speck out of your eye...when there is a plank in your own eye...You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye...”
Now, Son, if you’ve ever studied the Bible and God’s instruction you’d know...you have the right to question and judge the action or the deeds...but you’d better not judge the person. You are to love the person and let God do his job.
So I suggest you take that plank out of your own eye, and start studying again, because you haven’t got it yet. Unless of course, you’re God. Because I’m human and followed those instructions..as I questioned the behavior in my post by saying “I don’t know” and then stated what I was dealing with...then I stepped aside and left God in charge of the dispensation just as He instructed me to do. Have YOU GOT IT YET? Because I’m done explaining it for ya!
