When a black tennis player comes unglued, they are uppity and full of rage. When you're a black female playing singles tennis, you are the HNIC. Combine that with media scrutiny and their handfuls of salt to rub into your blisters, and it's a lose-lose.

Her accomplishments on and off the court will be judged in greater context some day. I can wait. She's not that vital to our society that we need to understand her in total today or next year.

I agree she’s just an accomplished athlete. Somehow I didn’t see the same outrage from people about Ryan Harrison’s racket throwing and ball kicking in his 1st round loss. Although he is not on the same level as Serena, bad behavior is bad behavior. By the way Ryan Harrison, 19 yrs old, is considered a promising up-and-coming junior player.

Ha!

The Williams sisters have been coddled by the media for over a decade! HNIC? Salt in the wounds by the media? Get a grip! These two sisters don’t have that kind of “skin in the game”!

She is a sore loser!. Color of the skin doesn’t care about sportsmanship.

“Don’t even look my way”! ? What the hell was she going to do about it? Whip up on the “whitey” official?

Your kind of comments will only continue when people let you get away with it!

I call BS blackdog!

I see her as someone who might be using steroids thus full of rage. Let’s be honest, no way of knowing for sure unless giving her a drug test.

Tennis however used to be a gentleman’s (or gentlewoman’s) sport. The word “heck” was not even used on the court. Thank McEnroe for changing all this. There are those who still view it as such. Wanna see fights? Then go to a hockey game. Fans want to see the players act civilized at Tennis.
