Bodybuilder Throws Dog Out 3rd-Story Window: Cops

A Queens bodybuilder has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty after police say he threw his Chinese Shar-Pei named Brooklyn out the third-story window of his apartment and pretended to have been asleep when police came to inquire about the animal’s death.
Milan Rysa, 30, hurled Brooklyn out of his Astoria apartment at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, police say.
One disturbed witness told the Daily News he saw the 50-pound canine fly out the window and heard it yelp as it hit the ground with a thud.
When cops knocked on Rysa’s apartment door, the Queens man allegedly told officers he had been asleep at the time the dog flew out the window.
He was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and one count of overdriving, torturing and injuring an animal, the Queens district attorney's office said.
After his arrest, Rysa was taken to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Neighbors told the News they didn’t know what could have provoked such a horrific crime, but that Rysa had been spotted abusing the animal in the past.
It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney. Rysa was awaiting arraignment Wednesday morning.

Sometimes it just happens that way. Some years back an airport employee near me was charged after shooting and wounding a dog multiple times before hacking it to death with a shovel. A few years later while mowing grass at the same airport his shirt caught on the brake release as he got off the tractor and he was run over by the gang mower and killed.
