The movie was filmed three years before the start of The Andy Griffith Show. Griffith, who had made a name for himself in a Broadway play called “No Time For Sergeants,” was well-known in the industry. His sitcom was actually a spin-off of The Danny Thomas Show.
I was referring to the Andy Taylor character - so different from Andy Griffith the Democrat.
