I was thinking the same thing, maybe Tonk’s in the shop for a lookover as they wrote the article. His head’s the right size, but she’s 5’10 so his withers should be at or above her head.
If you ever get the chance, catch the Bud Clydesdales park the trailer at the Rodeo. Amazing.
My wife thinks that the article just got the height wrong, as a quarter/Percheron cross would most likely not be 18 hands, as neither breed is a tall horse... She thought the photo looked about right for that sort of cross.
And yes, I have caught the Bud Clydes at the fair, several times... Quite amazing!
