I don’t excuse the idiot at the Justice Department who signed off on the bill. But how could the hotel charge anyone, even the government, $16 for a pastry?

From a historical movie: in XVI century's Britain they used thin golden leaves to bake cakes, so those $16-worth could have been of that kind.
