I liked the author’s reference to the flannel-wearers of the 90s, which certainly ushered in a decade of garbage.

Hairbands and metal power brokers disappeared in minutes with the birth of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Nothing against those bands, but there wasn’t the nearly the complexity or eccentricity of the 80s scene.

Anyway, if I had to pick a band that had an epic fall from grace, it’s Queensryche. Right out of the Maiden mold, but I thought they took it even further. Naturally, they were far-left anti-Americans, but at least they could put together awesome concept albums. After Empire, they were dead to me.

I love Queensryche musically speaking, but it pisses me off what leftists they are.

What’s really bad is the things they sing about in their songs, if they had half a brain, they’d realize are more accurately attributed to the LEFT as opposed to the right.

Progressive metal came about, and that’s pretty complex.

There’s a great Brazilian power metal band by the name of Aquaria.
