Not The Monkees, yet again.
Eric B & Rakim? What’s next Tiffany and Los Tigres del Norte? The R&R Hall has gotten to be a joke that just about anyone can buy their way into, no matter how distantly related to actual Rock n Roll they might be.
I’d vote for the The Small Faces/The Faces and Freddie King this group.
Those two aside this seems like a pretty strong ‘class’.
Agree. And for Laura Nyro.
Heart? Ack....
I love The Spinners, but I wouldn’t exactly call them Rock N’ Roll.
* Beastie Boys no
* The Cure no
* Donovan Yes
* Eric B. & Rakim
* Guns ‘N Roses Yes
* Heart yes
* Joan Jett and The Blackhearts No
* Freddie King Yes
* Laura Nyro Yes
* Red Hot Chili Peppers No
* Rufus with Chaka Khan No
* The Small Faces/The Faces No
* The Spinners Yes
* Donna Summer Yes
* War Yes
The whole thing is Jan Wenner’s personal wanking device and by that definition is a joke.
The Spinners—yes. The rest? Evidence that rock is indeed dead. Nyro, maybe, but not as a rocker.
The rest of these folks are at best journeyman/woman groups. The idea of winning induction to this ridiculous “Hall of Fame” giving one cred shows how silly the whole idea is. Rock is supposed to be the music that laughs at museums and official labeling.

Donovan ISN’T in?!
For shame! As good as Guns N Roses is, Donovan should get in before them.
Faces/Small Faces will probably get in. They are an act like the “Yardbirds” that looks very important & influential when viewed in the rearview mirror. That’s the kind of act that gets in.
The Spinners & Donna Summer will probably get the nod, though I don’t have much love for Disco & pure R&B acts.
War? Really? Which version? The one with Eric Burton?
I can see an argument for Joan Jett.
Agreed about Joan Jett.
She was a pioneer in the 1970s and influential with The Runaways.
She then gave the music industry the ‘middle finger’ when she created her own record label in 1980 after she was rejected multiple times by the big Hollywood labels — and the rest is history!
The Cure and The Small Faces should definitely get in , but probably won’t because the RARHOF is a sad joke .
This Hall of Shame is a joke until they put Grand Funk Railroad in. One of the biggest selling bands of all time and they are still snubbed.
the spinners, donna summer, war.....yet no Moody Blues- another joke full of nominees...
Don’t look at me, I always vote for Weird Al...
