I have never believed in polls. Didn't we all cheer GWB when he said he wouldn't govern by polls? So that was code for Palin is running? Who knew?

FR won't be torn apart.

Then you aren't watching.

Yes, you keep saying that and your wrong. Polling is increasingly very sophisticated and accurate - especially when numerous polls are averaged together in something like the RCP average. Yes, certain kinds of questions are obviously loaded to produce a result that a media outlet can run with, but on very basic yes or no type questions polling is quite good. Even a Democratic pollster like PPP has called the last several races amazingly close - including the last couple NY special elections, the recent concluded NV race and the WVA governor election that just passed. These firms get paid for their work and have a reputation to protect - and they are increasingly quite good at what they do.

Didn't we all cheer GWB when he said he wouldn't govern by polls?

Anyone can say that don't "govern" by the polls, but believe me, GWB was 100% paying close attention them (as all politicians do) and tailoring his arguments around the results and conclusions his pollsters were making.

So that was code for Palin is running?

Come on, everyone reading these threads and comments know you were arguing Palin was running and that any evidence to the contrary, particularly polling, was wrong.

Then you aren't watching.

Meh, the acrimony will fade very quickly. Everyone just has to get it out of their system is all.
