If Palin ran indie she would be utterly destroyed. Every bit of support she currently gets from Rush, Hannity, etc, would evaporate overnight. Virtually every conservative commentator, analyst, opinion shaper, etc, would crucify her.

You were right up to that point.

She's not running.

You're wrong on this one. She's going to run for the Republican nomination, but do it with an independent-oriented style -- running against both the Democract and Republican establishment.

So she's NOT going to run as an independent third party candidate, but she is going to run to take over the Republican Party and help elect large majorities in Congress on her way to the White House.

Just watch... you can already see those independent-minded themes coming through in every speech. Remember the Wisconsin "game on" speech... she said something about sure I'll take on the Republican leadership... what more can they say about us?

I am still convinced she’s running, and I suspect she’s putting it off because she knows that it’s a crucible that the entire family must enter. I actually like her strategy, and think that timing matters greatly in this endeavor. All war is deception, and elections are bloodless wars. If there were only two or three contenders getting in early makes sense, but when there are ten (?) being the one waiting in the wings makes sense. IMHO> (not so humble)

I have heard Palin speak in person, and she is a great speaker. I have seen the crowds she draws, and they are huge, even by the standards of national politicians. Having watched her more recent interviews, it’s clear that they are good (and I will admit that her early ones were not). Could she win? I think so, but that’s what a campaign is for. Let’s see how she does as a GOP candidate in the primaries, and then it should be obvious to you, to me, and to the country whether she is the right choice to save America from socialism.
