Explain how, and why you think, Palin could defeat Obama ( Vanity )
10/3/11

Posted on 10/03/2011 6:51:37 PM PDT by sushiman

I was supporting Cain , but for a variety of reasons have ended that support . There's no one else currently running whom I wouldn't have to hold my nose for when voting . I've always thought that Palin was unelectable ( if she ran , obviously ) , but am open to being convinced otherwise . Thanks in advance .

I agree about his personality defect, not unlike slick willy who was in love with the sound of his voice. He is also a Mama's boy who takes orders from Moochelle as near as I can tell. I look for him to have some kind of a feigned illness to beg off the reelection bid.

No, because the woman doesn’t always win, but she still avoids the rock.

“LOL. If Palin ran indie she would be utterly destroyed”

Ah, I used to believe that too. No more.

My Take:

*IF* Palin is running, she is currently the smartest of the GOP. The GOP field can't seem to hold the lead. When one peaks, they get ambushed by the media and they are not used to it. The media won't touch Romney, as that's who they want. Palin is the one they fear, primarily because she's the only one so far that

Let's add a key factor that is necessary in all political races: name recognition. She has a clear advantage in that category.

While the GOP is trying to find a winning message, Sarah already found one. The result was the taking back of the House of Representatives. Palin was working the pavement to help make that happen. You see, just image Sarah making mention of that on stage along with the line "and where were you guys?"

The current occupant of the White House uses a strategy of intimidation and silencing the opposition. As you can see, that hasn't worked with Mrs. Palin. They even tried to accuse of her of conspiracy to murder. 25,000 emails. Scandalous scribbling from mad men. She's still ticking. Let us also not forget the wild card: I predict there will be a new democrat opponent especially if the GOP picks a strong candidate (believe me - the current candidate does NOT want to run a campaign against Sarah. They need a soft Romney or Huntsman)

When the CEO of BET says lay off blaming the rich, that was the signal that there is little political support left from the base. All that's left is to hope for riots and insurrection and mayhem in hopes to scare enough decent white people to stay home. They are currently in cities desperately trying to start a violent confrontation with law enforcement to get the ball rolling.

To conclude, for Sarah to take the oath in 2013, she needs only to get her name on the ballot.

Just my pair of pennies. - J

She has executive experience, looks at all sides of an issue, is an awesome ‘steward of the people’s money’, is not indebted to any organization, effective, pro American, pro business, fought and won corruption in her own party, and stood up to big oil, and won.

Oh wait nevermind, the media and the left parrots that she’s ‘radical’, stupid, a MILF Bill Maher wants, extremist, hasn’t announced yet, yada, yada, yada...

Obama will not hold (regardless of his opponent) Florida, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina or Indiana... (Wisconsin),

Exactly right.

Anybody who thinks that Obama will win those states against any Republican doesn't understand what's going on in this country.

And out of all the Republican candidates and potential candidates, Palin has the best shot to swing over Wisconsin.

Ah, I used to believe that too. No more.

Then you've gone badly astray and may have wandered of into fantasy land. There is no national clamor for Palin to run for President outside off her core of fanatical supporters. Were to she run indie, she would lose every shred of support she still retains from Rush, Hannity, etc. All of these folks would turn on in her in instant and tear her to pieces. If she ran 3rd party she'd be a nonfactor, and would utterly destroy the money making brand she has managed to build up over time.

Why are we talking about this anyway? Palin has made it clear that ABO is about the most important thing we've got to focus on in 2012. I don't think she's running for President as a Republican, and I'm more than certain she wouldn't blow up her career with a vanity 3rd party bid.

well since no one has answered you in the last 80 odd posts I will try to do so.

Palin had an 88% approval rating while Gov of AK before McCain picked her. which means she has an ability to reach a vast majority of the population and what they care about. she is not a politician to run on wedge issues but one to run on a unifying vision. take her recent attack on crony capitalism. the only people that don't think it is a problem are the people at the government teat. the vast majority of the population understand how crony capitalism is destroying our future and know it is a problem in both the GOP and Dem parties.

Gov Palin’s record while Governor is impressive. Working with the people and both parties her bills were not passed in the middle of the night nor rammed down the people's throat. In fact the majority of her bills were passed with massive majority support both dems and rep voted for her bills because she got the people on her side and they demanded their politicians pass them.

and what great bills they were. Her Aces has allowed the state of AK to have a $15 BILLION surplus at a time when most other states are in the red.

Under Gov Palin AK was second in the country on a % basis in job creation beating out states like TX and Ca.

while Gov she showed a ability to spend taxpayer money wisely by using the veto to cut REAL spending by 10% not fake cuts but real cuts.

She fully funded future education so that it was not at the mercy of the economy, she cut Federal earmark requests by 86% she reduced the debt load on the state and thanks to her fiscal management AK was just upgraded unlike NJ and Dc who just had credit downgrades.

Palin placed the states book on the web so citizens could see where the money was going. She passed ethic laws in AK that if applied to TX would require the entire TX state government to go to jail most likely.

You heard the stories of her firing the chef and selling the gov’s jet she was fugal with the people's money.

She is against gov mandates so strongly that one of her 24,000 emails released showed that Gov Palin was even against the helmet mandates for bikers. She does not think it is government’s job to be your daddy.

She is a great speech giver, can fire up crowds as the 2010 and 2008 elections showed, she has an innate grasp ability to take complex policies and break them down to easily understandable phrases like “death panels” Crony capitalism” Thereby able to communicate to the people in clear language what is going on and get them behind her.

Her negatives are mostly made up out of thin air and like all lies will not stand the test of truth as more people see her not the media made cartoon.

she is a strong social conservative in her private life, pro life and pro freedom. she is a consititutionist and will not allow her personal beliefs to override the law of the land/Constitution.

Her foreign policy doctrine is a strong doctrine consisting of 5 parts.

She is a believer in American exceptionlism and understands it was our founding that made us so.

she is a chrisitian and follower of Christ. she has a strong family a loving husband of 20+ years with 5 children and 2 grandchildren which makes her very grounded and very clear about the need to improve our future.

She is not afraid to give up power for the greater good and does not want power for power sake.

That I guess will be a good start. I highly suggest you watch the undefeated it is now available at walmart. And tells of her specific policies and actions as Mayor and Gov of AK as well as gives a glimpse into her playbook as far as how she runs campaigns.

I hope this helps.

If she doesn’t run, I can think of several nominations here for the anti-prestigious Harold Camping mass hysteria award.

Seriously, some of the Palin KAD’s need to chill out. They aregue for her like libs argue about global warming.

IE:
It’s hotter than normal today: global warming
It’s colder than normal today: global warming
It’s been dryer this season than normal: global warming
It’s been more floods here than normal: global warming

Palin:
If Sarah jumps in now, it’s the most brilliant move ever
If Sarah jumps in later, it’s the most brilliant move ever
If Sarah says something inclined to running, it’s the most brilliant move ever
If Sarah says nothing concerning her intentions to run, it’s the most brilliant move ever.

See the correlation?

The last time we had great President was Reagan.

There is only one chance at greatest this time around and that is Sarah Palin.

All theses other clowns running now will be another bush, nixon, mccain.

If Sarah doesn't runs things will be the same as before, no core beliefs by perry, romney.

All these chicken shit conservatives who are letting the media tell us who are nominee can't be, are brain dead. It can't be Palin.

Bull!

Scratch Minnesota on your list and replace it with Michigan. Even still, I suspect the Detroit machine will still be out in full force.

NH is not made up of the “conservative” base a Palin would need to win. It’s toss-up for Romney and so-so for everyone else.

The Republican base is heavily fractured in NV. There are enough of the Paulbot anarachists and socially moderate Repulicans, that unless the GOP candidate can unify all factions, they’ve got no shot here. The GOP nominee is going to have to get near 290,000+ votes in Clark and around 100,000+ in Washoe to have a shot, and this takes into account that Obama’s support will taper off. Because all of the nominees turn off some faction or the other, it’s hard to see a unifying effort here. This is what did in Sharon Angle.

Wisconsin is up for grabs and may be the best chance at grabbing the state in years. It was razor thin in 2004/2008 and the GOP survived everything that the Unions threw at them in the Special Elections.

Colorado is another ground zero location. Scratch this off for Rick Perry and Mitt Romney. Tea Party activists make up a plurality (but not a majority) of the GOP base. If you get Tancredo’s support for campaigning in the state, it’s competitive. If not, the state is blue.

Pennsylvania is always a tease. Depending on whether or not that EV by CD gets passed or not could by itself make up the “one” additional state the GOP would need to hit 270, because they’d win at least 6, if not more CD’s. As for winning outright, the key here is to win in the 6th CD with the margins Bush did, while capitalizing on the gains made in the 11th CD. The 11th has never majority voted for the GOP for POTUS in the last 30 years. If that happens, and the margins Bush carried against Kerry hold (McCain ran far weaker), then the GOP has a shot at taking PA.

Iowa - Romney has no shot. It’s a matter of who shows up at the polls in greater force: social conservatives v liberals, and the farmers that vote mainly on ethanol subsidies.

You left off New Mexico. That will be close also.

No, I’m not taking it to the bank just because yet another Freeper thinks he knows something. I’ve been told to take it to the bank that she’d announce Labor Day, Constitution Day, September 30, 4th of July, June 30.

HER WORD was that she’d decide by September 30th.

Sure, whatever. /sarc.

Now that (P)erry has been in the race, you might want to specify which PDS you are refering to. Apparentally Rush has anybody not named Rick Perry Derangement Syndrome. Have you noticed that after the last debate, he spent like :30 seconds on his program “discussing” (if you can call it that) Perry’s poor performance. This, while everyone was in an uproar over his immigration answer, Rush barely mentioned it and the callers that got through never brought it up. He has essentially labeled Mitt Romney the liberals pick to be our nominee. He featured a picture of Michele Bachmann “jumping the shark” for the attack on Perry on HPV even warning her and the other candidates not to attack Perry. He even when after Sarah when she jumped on the “crony capitalism” attack on Perry calling it “unsettling” of her to make the claim. And now, he’s jumped on Herman Cain for his response attacking Perry for being “insensitive”.

I don’t know why, but Rick Perry is Rush’s guy and I don’t think that’s going to change even if Sarah gets in (he’ll jump on the bandwagon and take credit if she wins like normal) You might want to call in and accuse Rush of having Palin Derangement Syndrome for failing to promote her on his program at the same level he has promoted Rick Perry.
