ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Turns out the Buffalo Bills didn't need to actually contain quarterback Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles.

All they had to do was watch and wait for this so-called "Dream Team" to start unraveling all on its own.

Graziano Juqua Parker shouldn't have jumped. Michael Vick's interceptions hurt. But Dan Graziano says it's all Andy Reid's fault in Philly.

At first, the Bills were just a surprise winner. They've since morphed into a serious contender, writes James Walker.

Running back Fred Jackson combined for 196 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown, and linebacker Nick Barnett had two of Buffalo's four interceptions to secure a 31-24 victory Sunday over a slow-starting, underachieving, far-from-elite opponent.

"All week, we talked about getting after Vick," Barnett said. "Containing Vick is a hard job for anybody. We were trying to make him uneasy, make him think too fast."

Barnett returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. And he then sealed the victory by picking off Vick a fourth and final time with 1:49 left.

Amen to that. For every dog he killed, I hope he saw the vision of each of them flashing before his eyes when his helmet pinballed off the turf lie a psychotic Boccie ball, 'redemption' be damned. And, as a Redskins fan, watching the Iggles, Cowboys, and Giants collapse is like having naked Polynesian girls feed me peeled grapes.

I don't know how much longer it'll last, but I'm getting all the jollies I can in the NFC East.

Oh, I know. He can throw well enough to burn a team that is trying to stop him from running, the guy is a load. I'm convinced he can be a good QB, but the offense has to be modified for his talents.

At the end of that game, I was rooting for Broncos, as if I were rooting for the Gators.

Have you heard that the Miami Dolphins are honoring the Gators National Championship Team when Tebow and the Broncos go to Miami?

The sports writers in the Miami Herald were up in arms about it. As a Hurricane, I'm supposed to hate you guys but I've always rooted for all the Florida teams in the bowls.

Since we Dolphin fans are pretty much resigned to Suck for Luck and rooting to get Coach Sparano and GM Ireland fired this year, maybe the entire stadium will be rooting for Tebow. ;-)

Better half and I were enjoying a cold one in a bar this afternoon in beautiful downtown Lewes, DE. There were lots of TV’s and vast quantities of Eagles fans. Enjoyed myself immensely watching them suffer through another loss. Was thinking the Eagles should change their logo to a dead dog with all fours stuck up in the air.

While he was at Purdue, Orton was very outspoken against the Iraq War, and he admitted in interviews that he was a liberal Democrat.

I agree with you. I think Tebow will be just one more in a long line of great college QBs who simply weren’t cut out for the NFL. It’s nothing against Tebow . . . it’s just that the skills of a great college QB simply don’t necessarily translate to success in the NFL.

I’m a Pats fan, so the Bills winning is never good news for me, but I’m ok with it if it means another embarrassing game for Vick. I am so happy he is so awful this season. ESPN is trying so hard to will Vick into being a good quarterback, but I cannot see how anyone can consider him good after the way he has been playing so far this season. Every quarterback (even Brady and Manning) can have a bad game, but Vick just plain sucks.

Vick is an amazing athlete, but he's inconsistent. Maybe they'll start saying "Good Vick, Bad Vick," like they used to say "Good Rex, Bad Rex" about Rex Grossman when he was with the Bears. The year the Bears went to the playoffs Rex had both more top rated and more bottom rated games than anyone.

When Cam Newton gets it, he is going to dominate, you can see spending time with Tebow at Florida really was an influence on Cam and you can see it in how he leads that team on the field.

USA Today Revealed Bears QB Loves Hillary

Okay, please take this with a grain of Cheesehead salt, but um, I have a reason why conservatives could root for the Carolina Panthers against those dreaded Chicago Bears today. Bears QB Kyle Orton? Big liberal. In the midst of some research into the weird absence of the words “Kerry” and “Hillary” within 50 words of each other in the fall of 2004, I came across this USA Today piece, where an Orton teammate at Purdue related, “He said that if John Kerry doesn’t get elected, he’s going to throw himself headlong into the Hillary Clinton camp.” The report had more detail:

Now he understands that Orton’s success on the football field could one day be seen as the introduction of an ambitious liberal democrat to a larger audience.

“I’d love to run for Congress or the Senate,” Orton said.

He has read about the Kennedy, Johnson and Clinton administrations. He has declared his concerns over policies of the current administration, specifically the commitment to the war in Iraq.

“I don’t think we should be over there,” Orton said.

The quarterback searches for voices of dissent on campuses and does not find enough of them.

“It surprises me a lot,” he said. “Usually college campuses are pretty liberal places where you debate different thoughts. You protest over it. You read about all these protests that went on in the 60s. I don’t think there are that many young people that feel they can make a difference in politics. They feel the government is so big that they don’t think their vote or their voice matters any more.”

[Coach Joe] Tiller acknowledges Orton’s conviction but ...”Well,” the coach said and winked, “he’s pretty young.”

Still, the coach has seen a strengthening of Orton’s political resolve in the last year.

“We quickly disagreed on our opinions,” Orton said. “One thing I do like about our conversations is you really can’t have a lot of political conversations (with others) without one person getting bent out of shape. We stay calm, and just talk, and give each other a hard time.”

Back in November, Orton reiterated his beliefs for the Chicago Tribune: “I’ve always been interested in politics. I’ve always been around it with my dad. He was involved at a state level. He was the head commissioner of OSHA (In Iowa). I’ve been thinking about getting involved in some campaigns, people like the John Edwardses, the Barack Obamas, the Hillary Clintons—that’s kind of who I support. So, I’d probably say I was a liberal.”
