ni·hil·ism [nahy-uh-liz-uhm, nee-] noun
1. total rejection of established laws and institutions.
2. anarchy, terrorism, or other revolutionary activity.
3. total and absolute destructiveness, especially toward the world at large and including oneself: the power-mad nihilism that marked Hitler's last years.
4. Philosophy
a. an extreme form of skepticism: the denial of all real existence or the possibility of an objective basis for truth.
b. nothingness or nonexistence.
5. ( sometimes initial capital letter ) the principles of a Russian revolutionary group, active in the latter half of the 19th century, holding that existing social and political institutions must be destroyed in order to clear the way for a new state of society and employing extreme measures, including terrorism and assassination.
6. annihilation of the self, or the individual consciousness, especially as an aspect of mystical experience.
Example sentence:

No, it’s the show Danson has been on. This is the third season. It’s about a guy who is a writer, but in the throes of writer’s block after his first novel decided to advertise on craigs list as an “unlicensed detective.” Danson plays a magazine editor/mentor/friend and Zack Galifinakis plays his pot smoking best friend/comic book artist.
They get into capers. It’s very film noir-ish/40s detective stories. Not bust-a-gut funny, but amusing.
I try almost every day to watch The Five and pray that it is changed to The Four - Beckel is just so disgusting
Good description - I may check it out. My DVR is on the fritz today - again. The comcast bunch of dvrs are really poorly made - this will be #3 in less than 9 months

I often have to deal with therapeutic nihilists. People who totally reject traditional medicines principles and insist on doing it their own way.
Crosby wearing a black helmet at practice has twitterdom in a complete UPROAR over him potentially returning for tonight’s game. It does mean he’s cleared for contact, but not necessarily that he will play tonight, but it does make it more fun to think about tonight’s game. Malkin is also skating and could potentially play, apparently, despite that eastern european proneness to some ingrown toenail or other soreness that kept him out of the last few.

They’re doing special fundraiser for the KHL hockey club at tonight’s game. Selling the game sweaters, etc.
