During the second half of 2009 the magazine saw a 34.9% decline in news stand sales. During the first half of 2010 there was another decline of at least one third in Time magazine sales. In the second half of 2010 Time magazine newsstand sales declined by about 12% to just over 79 thousand copies per week.

I guess they couldn’t find any pictures the made the OWS crowd look good and went with a all black cover. I guess they know the majority of Americans aren’t interested in seeing homeless camps, er, protests filled with trash.
The cover has everything: a Romney puff piece (one candidate’s faith), Hollywood (Clooney), Gays (bullied kids) and Occupy Wall Street propaganda front-and-center.
79,000 a week. I don’t know how they stay in business. Probably all of those ads. Nobody sees them though.
What this will accomplish is to get these infant marxist their bonafides. In later years this will be part of their resume to get them accepted to professorships at prestigious universities or lucrative positions with big charitable foundations. In future years the password for entry into marxist circles will be "OWS".

Newsweek had to sell their souls to the Daily Beast to even keep heads above water. The NYT is being kept alive by the Bertelsmann media group (who have a very interesting history); the NYT sold off their interest in BPI Communications to Bertelsmann, and they currently have a "partnership" with Der Spiegel.
