Palin is in a fight to wrest control of the GOP from Washington insiders. I don’t think she will win, at least not this election cycle.
The GOP Establishment will elect Obama rather than let Herman Cain win. They will NOT relinquish control to a Washington outsider.
The GOP establishment isn’t just going to up and quit, of course. They have too much invested.
So when I say Palin is right to focus on that job, I’m not saying it’s going to be done overnight, or even by her.
It is a long process that is going to have to be fought, though. We’ve been slouching along from election to election, getting people like Dole and McCain, and threatening not to vote if our guy doesn’t get selected, and then for some of us we end up supporting the GOP nominee, anyway, because we don’t want someone like Obama in there.
So the fight has to be taken seriously and not just be a once-every-four-years bitch fest. It has to be a priority in itself, and for a long time.
