and from the charred remains it was evident there was a fire.........and from the wetness it was evident the firemen sprayed water on the evident fire to put it out...........

I’ll give this guy a break.
The media probably came rushing in and asked, “Was there an explosion?” (even though it would be obvious to even the most casual observer).
He just gave them an answer that fit their level of questioning.

Personally, I would have dead-panned it and said, “No, there was a centralized low-pressure around the trailer that caused the trailer to burst from the inside, out. No more comments.”

that’s just me, though.
