Also airing episodes tonight and tomorrow night. This show rocks. It has old school Irish cops in it. Tune in and see what you have been missing.

Apparently, the show's future is teetering on the brink of keep or cancel....

I saw the trailers.

Some chick pretending she can kick people’s butts doesn’t cut it.

I'm with you on that one. It's seems like all the cop dramas on TV these days have one thing in common: the female cops are gorgeous. It's like the police department recruited from a modeling agency.

It's so laughably unrealistic that I can't get interested in the story lines. So I'll stick to COPS on Fox.

I don’t care. I like it. It’s entertainment.

1) Seems too much like a typical cop show.

2) Seems too much like one of those indistinguishable chick cop shows on TNT or USA or Lifetime: The Closer, In Plain Sight, Saving Grace, etc.

3) That whole hat and scarf thing is pretty silly -- striving to be "cool" and have "attitude" when you obviously don't.

Tough blondes with badges and guns, self-expression through accessorizing -- concepts that have to be rethought or abandoned.

It can never, ever, ever hold a candle to Helen Mirren in the original.

“Some chick pretending she can kick people’s butts doesn’t cut it”

Actually the show is excellent and in the first episode she chases a guy who turns the tables, beats the living crap out of her and almost kills her. She has to be saved by one of her male partners.

As long as she keeps her mouth shut about politics I’ll watch it because it’s very good!

Hi, ‘dita and company:

I’ll pass.

The original Helen Mirren series rocked silent but strong. Tried the pilot and another episode of the new version. It’s just another hot chick in skinny jeans. Who’s in over her head while trying to be a bad ass.

Much prefer Jim Caviezel in ‘Person Of Interest’ for its Old School, Edward Woodward/’The Equalizer’ vibe.

Jack.

Mary, if we looked up political info on every TV and movie actor, etc., we’d probably be left with very little.

I’m not going to deny myself entertainment I enjoy on this basis, unless the person herself is obnoxious about it.

Last night’s show was a repeat of the first epi...and at the end, Jane convinces the SWAT team that she should go in first to talk to the psycho with a gun, “cuz we wrongly accused him”(of stealing a three year old).,,ie his human rights were violated. Never mind that he has had a gun to the head of his long time girlfriend’s daughter for the past hour..before she is let go.
So naturally fellow cops agree to let Jane go in alone(even though they hate her) so she can have a nice “talk” with the “victim” sitting on the floor of the laundry room, before he offs himself in front of her.
Hmmm.. Did you say “laughably unrealistic”?

Jack, we agree on Person of Interest. I absolutely love it. Caviezel is special in a unique, soulful way.

I love Bello's toughness. I don't know if she's in over her head; she came in to that precinct with a winning record. She's a good detective.

Much like the terrible American adaptation of "Life On Mars."

Okay, Enchiladita, you convinced me. I like the show and am going to continue watching it, despite the leftie leanings of Ms. Bello which I will try to forget that I learned of on this site. lalalalalalala (fingers in ears)..
But I still won’t go to any movies starring Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston or Sean Penn. :-)

LOL, we have a deal.

And, for the record, I just gave my Tony Bennett Christmas CD away to the thrift shop.

When they go over the line, they’re out!!

I’ve seen the commercials but it really didn’t appeal to me. In any event, I’ll be watching Top Shot on History.
