I buy Internet-only service from my cable provider. On a whim, I hooked up a TV to the coax. And there appeared basic cable, for free. (and worth every penny, I might ad.)
And the new digital TV even picks up some of the pay movie broadcasts.

This past weekend I checked our basic cable converter box (w/HD local service) and found that we receive several HD channels, I did not count them but I believe that besides our 10 of so locals in HD, there are an additional 40 to 60 digital and HD channels. The only drawback is the channels are are little slow to respond, bur for free, worth the wait.
I mentioned to Mrs. LVD, that possible we can reduce our DISH package and save a few $$.
