We need to run ‘generic republican’ on the ticket....
I wouldn’t worry about it, not much you can do as an individual.
The GOP wants Obama re-elected, that much is obvious.
The only chance America has is its citizens all of a sudden growning a brain and realizing that their country is being taken over by communists, but I realy doubt that this will happen.
I suspect the only way mankind is going ot learn about its own Evil is the hard, brutal way, and maybe not even then.
I’m not going to waste much of my time fretting over it, honestly, I’m just going to live the rest of the time I’ve got as well as I can, and when it comes my time to leave this godforsaken rock, I’m going to catch my chance to ride.
I don’t rally have any faith left in makind, generally speaking, and that’s all I’ve got to say on the subject for now.
Republican voters will find a way.
To paraphrase the witticism, “There are lies, d*mned lies, and polls.”
There’s only one “poll” that matters - the election.
And that’s a year away.
Not even Kreskin can predict what the world will look like a year from now.
Maybe it’s the weak field of GOP candidates. Generic R’s poll much better against Obama than any of the actual candidates. IMHO, Romney has cleared out all of the decent candidates with Chicago style politics and hopes to be the last crappy candidate standing.
As am I!
And what gives me pause, if not concern, is that the Fascist, Neo-Commie, has the corrupt, biased, Lame Stream Media in his corner, defending him and worse (as they have for the past 3 years) "Protecting" him against all and any "embarrassing" conduct...never mind, anything which would be harmful.
That we have come to expect, BUT, after the last couple of days with WH attack dog/puppet, (Plouffe) going after Romney and the "High Tech Lynching" of Cain, it got me wondering about how can "we" beat The Messiah with such a disadvantage we face from the git' go?
Anyone remember the TV anchor (who's name escapes me though it might have been Brokaw?) who admitted that the media's role in helping Dear Leader was "worth 10 points?"
I am not depressed or ready to throw in the towel, just worried that we will have to REALLLLY have a major turnout and be ready, willing and able to fight off what we know will be forthcoming from this slimy, bottom-feeding, Chicago-Thug, Administration: A Scorched earth policy and the ramping of the the "Politics of Personal Destruction"...no matter who gets the nomination!!!
I am pretty sure Jimmy Carter was kicking the you know what out of Reagan and other Republicans at this point in 1980.
Using modern polling methods, I would bet that LBJ would have been running even with Richard Nixon, but under 50% when he decided not to run again.
Bush was running even or ahead of Clinton in late 1991
1979
For 40 years government schools have been turning out students who have been taught to act on their feelings rather than intellect.
Some manage to overcome their brainwashing, educate themselves and learn to make rational value judgements.
Others remain stuck in their feel-good, non-judgemental, liberal world.
These are the people who voted put Obama in office in 2008 and they are still out there, voting and reproducing.
Polls are a snapshot in time taken by a ‘photographer’ with an agenda.
Who cares? Are we supposed to like behave like some group socially looking for a messiah to worship because the village next to says they think so and so snores less than the other?
Or picks his nose in public?
I say switch it off, make novemeber a month to ignore the polls, its nothing but a carnival, they are barkers trying to just bring you in.
“What gives?”
What else is to be expected when GOP candidates spend 90% of debate time ripping each other`s faces off and taking the spotlight off Obama. Of course the result would be doubts about each GOPer. They`re all doing Obama`s dirty work for him.
Defeating Obama is going to be a gargantuan task at best. By going at each other as they are, the GOP candidates are simply making it all the more difficult.
I agree. The country may have already passed the tipping point.
In November 2007, the polls said Giuliani 29%, Thompson 17%, and it was clear that Giuliani would face Hillary in the general election.

Giuliani tops Clinton 55 - 38 percent in Red states, which voted Republican in the 2004 presidential election, and ties her 46 - 46 percent in Blue states, which went Democratic in 2004. He gets 44 percent to Clinton’s 45 percent in Purple states, where the margin in 2004 was less than 7 percent, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. In other possible presidential matchups:
Clinton tops former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 49 - 37 percent;
Giuliani beats Illinois Sen. Barack Obama 47 - 40 percent;
Giuliani tops 2004 vice presidential candidate John Edwards 48 - 40 percent;
McCain ties Obama 43 - 43 percent;
McCain gets 43 percent to Edward’s 42 percent, a tie;
Obama tops Romney 49 - 29 percent;
Edwards beats Romney 48 - 32 percent.
Keep in mind that Mike Dukakis was riding high in the polls a year out from the elections, as well.
As Sarah said, Polls (poles) are for strippers and cross-country skiers.
