My sandwich isn't even on there! Oscar Mayer Bologna on Wonder Bread, slathered in Miracle Whip with Lays Potato Chips tucked INTO the sandwich.

The chips are NOT on the side because that would just taste icky, LOL!

“Then why does Lockhart ISD ban the from all school lunchrooms”.

There are a lot of peanut allergies now with kids. I was a room mom to one of these boys who would go into shock breathing the aroma of peanut butter. The nurse had his epi-pen and the whole routine if he stopped breathing. Very frightening stuff.. but it got me to wonder.. why so many peanut allergies today vs when I was a kid? I tried to read up on it and there are some theories that since peanuts have been manipulated genetically, their composition has changed and that has caused more allergies. I don’t have any idea if this is true or not... it is simply a theory; however, there is an increase in this particular allergy.

Lockhart ISD isn’t the only one. I remember reading about another central Texas ISD that banned the PB&J sandwiches. Our daughter loved them when she was a kid and I think she still takes them to work at times.

If you listen to Rush, he mentioned that peanut butter was going up 40%. The drought really hit the peanut farmers hard as well as cotton farmers. Expect anything made from cotton to almost double by Christmas.

I’ll bet that these are banned in more than a few lunchrooms because of ever-increasing incidence of peanut allergies. That’s why most airlines have gone from peanuts to pretzels (if they offer anything at all).
