Methinks that some of these political savants should step back and have a good think about their beliefs and what they really are. I have to point out that dispite their continued PDS, Palin is still out there doing what she does, effectively, and that what she does is help boost conservative values and candidates. If that is somehow a bad thing, then ‘someone’ is posting on the wrong site.

It sure seems to me like PDS (yes Dubya, P D S...like it or not you haZ it!) has morphed into CDS lately. Many, but not all the PDS crew (well, those that aren’t Occupying Triollhange right now anyway), have shifted their hatred and are carrying right on with their prior BS unabated. And the merest suggestion of SP getting back in sends them into fits of hysteria because their now-preferred candidates are getting waxed as it is.

The sheer horror of a reinstigated Palin run means that the 9% and below crowd would see their candidate’s numbers reduced even more. Ergo, the mere idea that SP could restart must be killed. And if that means sliming her even firther, so be it. Real conservative stuff, that is ...

Of course, she is not likely to restart this go-around, so it just gives the PDS possee (those remaining of it)a chance to relive their liberal ‘glory’.

"...she said she would not be seeking the GOP nomination..."

She actually said, "...I will not be seeking the GOP nomination at this time...

"...but unless Palin herself says something about her decision, I’m not listening."

Agreed. But she remains the only one I'll vote for in 2012 of all the possible conservative candidates, because she remains the only one who has what it takes to tackle and fix our current problems.

I'm still crushed that she declined back in October, but not so much so that I'd withhold my vote for her if she gets in. She's still the best we've got by a few thousand miles.

It turns my stomach so badly that I can't get through most Palin threads these days. Watching one of this nation's most important conservative voices get slimed and pummeled on one of the country's premier conservative forums is more than this American can handle.

I won't lie. I'd love nothing better than to see Sarah Palin being sworn in as the 45th president, in January 2013. I honestly feel that the office would be hers for the taking, if she decided to run for it. But, I'm also one who lives with reality, and I accept that I may never see that happen.

For me, it's like watching Washington turn his back on his countrymen in their hour of greatest need. It's one of the toughest things I've borne witness to in this life.

The cold hard truth is that America is now more corrupt than Soviet Russia ever thought to be. And the main reason is that liberals have infiltrated all aspects of society, especially conservatism and ‘set the tone’. Here on FR it manifests in ‘conservatives’ trashing the most conservative ‘candidate’ we have had since Ronaldus. Fact.

And look at them spin and whine when that gets pointed out and their actions exposed. Hit dog howls.

I have said repeatedly that many need to revaluate their beliefs. We all need to do that though. Those of us that really do believe in conservative ideals need to fight back hard against the liberalism and stop being afraid to call a spade a spade. Going along to get along and not ‘offend’ fellow freepers and ‘conservatives as a whole CAUSED this friggin mess to begin with and insanity is repeating the process expecting a different result.

Fortunately those of us that DO believe in conservative ideals...really believe in them, will not put up with this BS. And it’s time for us all to get damn vocal about it.

I'm seriously thinking of writing her name in, come what may. I firmly believe that the stars are aligned for her to be positioned to become president at this precise time in our history.

Right when this country needed it most, a patriot of unparalleled excellence and bravery rose amongst us, and rallied us like no one since Reagan. That she would abandon her clear path to greatness, is a mystery that I haven't the wisdom to fathom. I only know that something is dreadfully wrong with this picture.

I'm still crushed that she declined back in October...

I think millions of us are. As I said upthread, it's as if Washington turned his horse and rode home to Virginia, right when his countrymen needed him most. The stars cross, and the universe tilts on its axis...

That could be the whole answer to why Sarah chose not to run. Perhaps she feels that she's not strong enough to combat the degradation that's killing this nation. I would hate to find out that she's lost the will to fight, but perhaps that's all it is.

Lord knows, a lot of Freepers have lost the will to combat the insanity that's crept into the discussions here. Imagine how they'd feel if they were faced with the onslaught that Sarah's dealt with over the last three years. Most of us would wither and die under that sort of assault. It's a miracle that she and her family survived it at all.

Then again, Sarah has extraordinary political instincts. Perhaps she sees something akin to a second Civil War coming, and is "reloading" for that scenario. If things really did fall apart to that degree, I'd fully expect her to take a leadership role in the battle to restore the republic.

But, perhaps I'm merely trying to make heads or tails of a mystery that's confounded my senses.

No kidding. What a gut-blow. I don't see how she could do this, or be happy doing it. It's like kicking dirt in God's Face. He handed her this on a gilt platter.

Of all people, she knows this without doubt. I can only imagine the weight that's on her shoulders (and her conscience) right now, because of her decision. She has walked away from certain victory, and a well-deserved place among giants. It's one of the most astonishing reversals in our nation's history, if you ask me.

I'd like to think that she's executing some incredibly unorthodox master plan, but what I'm observing argues against it. It appears that she's really opted out of seeking the ultimate leadership role in this country, and that saddens me more than I can articulate.

Despite her having stepped aside, I don't believe that she ever lied to us, and that she fully intended to make a run for the presidency. It's my working theory that she encountered some counter-intention that was too powerful for her to overcome, just days or weeks before she was going to announce. I'll say no more on that, but I don't believe for a second that her family talked her out of running.

Prescient. Truly. Not to mention the single-greatest tragedy in all of human history. The fate of the greatest nation in all of mankind swings like a pendulum thereupon.

My bottom line is that it HAS to collapse before it can improve and we have a chance to start over. I know that isn’t a popular view and it was one I hoped to avoid with a Palin presidency. But she’s only human after all. Even if she had run and won, the RINO/Lib wing would disrupt and block her as best they could scorched earth style. Could we have overcome it? Possibly but we will never really know.

We are so divided in this country that I really do not see how we can coexist as one people. Really we can’t as current reality so aptly demonstrates. Literally half of America does not ‘believe’ in America. They pay it lip service right until the BOR/Constitution hinder or prevent them from getting what they want and then Katy (Perry or otherwise ;) bar the door, it’s just a piece of paper and a living breathing document from a bunch of old dead racist white guys with no relavance to ‘today’.

I know that sounds harsh but can anyone dispute that honestly? IMO no, they cannot and I’m willing to vigerously debate it with anyone in an honest manner.

Ultimately one of two things WILL happen IMO. The country splits along Lib/traditional lines and rebuilds each their own with ‘some’ but limited cooperation between them or we decend into total bloody civil war. The LibDems have taken us to this point in their greed for power and “their way or no way” social politics.

Either way it’s ugly. Either way it’s a frealking mess. But I can see our team ultimately prospering greatly if/when it happens. No, not without a lot of grief, but like a Phoenix, what America ‘is’ can once again arise. As long as the libs aren’t aallowed to screw it up again. And for that to happen, they cannot hold power... thus the split.

The situation is exactly so.

This very moment, there are thousands of Americans pleading with her to recognize her place in history, and to answer the call of duty to her country. As powerful as that deluge of pleas is, I believe that the sound of her conscience is even louder in her mind.

I can only imagine the torment she must be going through at this time (and I know that she is). It remains to be seen whether her spirit will overcome whatever force is attempting to stop her, or whether she'll be beaten by it. I pray that she finds the strength to return to her rightful path.

I've got to agree. At least on the timing. That was the exact point at which something changed with her. As you said, you could see it in her interview with Greta. A lot of us commented on it at the time.

Personally, I don't think it was the book itself that did it. I believe that the book was only the public face of some other, more sinister thing the public wasn't privy to. In my opinion, Sarah didn't decide not to run - she was stopped.

Why only one shot? Mitt’s more competitive now on his second round, as was McCain. It took Reagan three tries.
