I did it automatically those two times when I was a kid. Since then I have consciously considered my surroundings in that light and taken note of the anecdotes others have told about weapons of convenience and how to use them. Tools dedicated to the task are great but it's good to consider alternatives.

Nearly everything I carry in my tool belt could kill, if I had a mind to use my tools that way. My work truck is a veritable arsenal of killing weapons.
