Sandusky a State Secret (what you find odd about this article?)
Delong ^ | 4-3-2011 | Mark Madden

Posted on 11/12/2011 9:11:02 PM PST by InvisibleChurch

Madden: Sandusky a State Secret: The Jerry Sandusky situation seems a matter of failure to connect certain dots, or perhaps unwillingness in that regard. Lots of people besides the former Penn State defensive coordinator have some explaining to do. Allegations of improper conduct with an underage male first surfaced in 1998, while Sandusky was still employed by Penn State. That incident allegedly occurred in a shower at Penn State's on-campus football facility. No charges were filed. Sandusky retired the next year, in 1999. He was 55, prime age for a coach. Odd, to say the least - especially with Joe Paterno thought even then to be ready to quit and Sandusky a likely, openly-discussed successor.

It seems logical to ask: What did Paterno know, and when did he know it? What did Penn State's administration know, and when did they know it? Best-case scenario: Charges are never brought, and Sandusky walks away with his reputation permanently scarred. The rumors, the jokes, the sideways glances - they won't ever stop. Paterno and Penn State do the great escape. Worst-case scenario: Sandusky is charged. Then it seems reasonable to wonder: Did Penn State not make an issue of Sandusky's alleged behavior in 1998 in exchange for him walking away from the program at an age premature for most coaches? Did Penn State's considerable influence help get Sandusky off the hook?

Don't kid yourself. That could happen. Don't underestimate the power of Paterno and Penn State in central Pennsylvania when it comes to politicians, the police and the media.

Wow, someone nailed it, seven months ago.

But here’s the thing: Paterno has been carrying this dirty little secret inside him for years, yet he’s consistently put more value on the football program (and the $91 million it brings in every year) more than doing the right thing for those boys. That’s what makes me want to puke. This isn’t something he just found out about 2 weeks ago, it’s been a conscious choice for years.

Oh. Yeah. It was written in April. That's been widely noted. When people here on FR have sought to make the analogy between the PSU situation and the Duke LAX situation, making the argument that people here are doing what the Duke 88 did -- rushing to judgement before all the facts are in -- one of the most convincing responses has been to point out this article, written last spring, calling the path this would take months before it played out.

Mr. Madden, by the way, said in a radio interview that he took a lot of heat for the article when it was originally published.

This was April. So confident was the Penn St. gang that this would be covered up too, Sandusky still had access to the place and to children through October.

Only a total moron could compare this with Duke Lax hoax.

In fact - it is fantastic - for exactly the OPPOSITE reason. The University protected this homo - while they assaulted the rights and reputations of the falsely accused students.

Not hyperbole - proven in a court of law.

I can understand why Penn State wanted to keep this scandal quiet and not report it to the police. But what I don’t understand is why they let Sandusky keep his privileges and have access to the facilities after he “retired.” Why didn’t they ban him from everything associated with Penn State to cover their a——?

“...The University protected this homo...”

They sure did, and I suspect they did it for more than just protecting the University and football team’s reputation/image.

PSU is one to most out-spoken advocates for the “homosexual agenda”. To wit, PSU’s president, who was fired on Wednesday along with Paterno, stated that he intended to ensure that PSU would be the nation’s most “gay” friendly university immediately after being appointed as PSU’s president 1995.

Having said that, I suspect that Sandusky is only one of many pedophiles lurking the PSU hallways.

Pedophiles (like homosexuals) do not live in a vacuum. Where ever you find one of them, there is another, and another, and another, and so on. They hang out at the same clubs, attend the same social events, dine at the same restaurants, have memberships at the same country clubs and network with each other as to the best places and sources for new victims.

Perhaps PSU’s board, regents, trustees, administration, faculty, and major donors have been increasingly stocked with pedo’s since the former Univ. president started his “gay crusade”.

With so many people in high places at PSU, with so much to lose, along with the potential to loose millions in football profits every year, and ultimately cause an investigation into the backgrounds and habits of many of them, it shouldn’t suprise any of us that they swept this under the rug for so long. (If there are more pedo’s at PSU, and I suspect there are, they don’t want to be exposed.) Nor should it suprise anybody that they allowed Sandusky to continue preying upon children because they, in fact, didn’t see anything wrong with it.

It’s sick, disgusting and unfathomable that any university would allow this to happen, and every explination I’ve heard so far doesn’t make sense to me. I believe there is something very sinister behind this scandal beyond what we have been told. The “gay agenda”, perhaps?

Also, regarding Joe Paterno:
No moral, ethical and rational person in their right mind would knowlingly allow such a thing to happen, allow it to go unreported, and allow it to continue to go on unabated for over 10 years. So, if JoePa knew about it, (and he did, per the Grand Jury report) then he is a huge POS in my book and should be stripped of any respect or adulation from the PSU faithful. He should be thrown into a prison cell next to Sandusky, throw away the key, turn out the lights, and left to rot in his own feces and urine.

I would like to know if Everett M. “Busy” Arnold payed tuition to Brown University for only JoePa.

JoePa - He gave the commencement address at Penn State in 1973, telling the gathered graduates “Money alone will not make you happy. Success without honor is an unseasoned dish.”

He should certainly be kept from any “Hall of Fame” type stuff.

If Pete Rose was bad enough - what is this?

There is more than enough blame to go around, and I find the people who knew repugnant. The one person left out of this barrage of moralistic journalism, missing in all things liberal, is the assistant that was an eye witness to such a horrific act. No one writes or talks about the act itself. That is the vile part of this story. God forbid the media has to take a principled stand on the homosexual pedophilia staring them in the face. How do you ignore the elephant in the room?

The guy was still on the staff until a few days ago.He should have beaten the hell out of the perp with what ever was available before he could get his clothes on. Why does he get a pass in the reportage. He is a co-conspirator in my judgment.

McQueary is still on the staff of PSU football. He’s just on administrative leave. He’s probably protected by ‘whistle-blower’ laws.

It’s unclear how one could have missed the firestorm around him, but yes, the MSM isn’t going to touch the homo angle.

His last name doesn’t encourage reporting on the homo angle.

Paterno better worry about the DA's investigation in Bexar county, Texas with regards to Sandusky taking a boy with him to the 1999 Alamo Bowl. Nobody in south Texas is going to give a damn about protecting Sandusky, Paterno, or Penn State. I doubt Texas is the only place out of state that Sandusky took boys for sexual purposes. There are 10 other member schools of the Big Ten that were located outside of Pennsylvania during the time Sandusky was a coach at Penn State. Penn State played in lots of bowl games, and I don't think a single one was played in the state of Pennsylvania. There are lots of DA's and federal prosecutors all over the US who might be interested in pursuing a case against Sandusky and other others from Penn State.
