But will he answer the most ask question in history and the universe?
This could be good.. or very very bad.
All I can say is that if Billy Piper isn’t in it, I ain’t going to go see it.
The is the least breaking Breaking News story I’ve seen on this forum in a decade.
Welcome to FR!
And the lack of originality crony-capitalist downward slide in Big Hollywood continues....
Remember back when movies were original?
I do. I miss those days.
This leads to some interesting questions:
1) What actor would play The Doctor?
2) Will they involve The Master (My vote is for Anthony Hopkins)
3) Will they finally explain why The Doctor left Gallifrey in the first place?
4) Who will portray his companion? (Mary Jane anyone?)
My wife is the bigger Doctor Who fan, and she approved this thread. :)
You signed up yesterday to post this? :-)
But it doesn’t say WHICH director? There were several directors of HP movies, and some of them were really really bad.
OMG!!!
David Yates screwed up the last three HP movies.
He did marginally well with #5.
This is not good news for anyone who knows the canon of Dr. Who. He will makes up his own to suit his own taste.
There’s no reason for this at all. It should remain British and TV bound. It will suck.
You have to go to the YouTube. It’s David Yates.
Honestly, that does not sound good. The director going on about how he had to take it in a new direction really has me leery.
This was done once before, with Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor. It was basically once-and-done thing, and wasn’t all that well received.
I’m with Borges. Keep the Doctor on TV.
Can’t be worse than the American Dr Who.... *shivers*
That 1996 TV movie was pretty popular in Britain. They were just desperate to have DW back at that point. It was a travesty although Paul McGann could have been a good Doctor given good material.
I wonder... Doctor Who works mainly because it is low-budget... Low on effects... But the writing is splendid. Its like good amateur Shakespeare theatre: a big budget a big special effects would spoil it.
McGann is actually GREAT in the Big Finish Audio plays.
