A friend of mine was a bartender back in the 70’s. One night he had to physically throw a drunk out of the bar. As they were struggling, the drunk bit my friend on the back of his hand hard enough to draw blood.
For the next two (2) years it would seem to heal up, then it would swell, and sometimes have to be lanced. His doctor said the situation was approaching the point where the doctor would recommend that they cut a huge chunk of skin out of his hand (large enough to require a skin graft). It eventually settled down and stopped.
The doctor's exact words were, “the worst thing on this planet to get bit by is another human being. I can cure you of almost any kind of animal bite in six weeks or less!”
His first mistake was being a bartender in the 70s. I hope he knows better than to try that again.
