I'm interested in and have researched food grade hydrogen peroxide therapy. I'm curious to hear if any FReepers do this. If so, what are your results?

My cousin had ALS at age 45. He asked his doctor and the doctor researched it and said it was pure fraud. Now, that may have been in context with ALS, where they have no idea what the cause is.
Hydrogen peroxide and Tide mixed together make a good product for highlights and platinum blonde hair.

I received this in an e-mail and although I knew of many of these uses, some I never thought of. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I was intrigued!
CLOROX VERSUS PEROXIDE
Clorox vs Peroxide VERY interesting and inexpensive. This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana (a doctor’s wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me. ‘I would like to tell you of the benefits of that Plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does bleach cost?
My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, And most doctors don’t tell you about peroxide. Have you Ever smelled bleach in a doctor’s office? NO!!!
Why? because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor’s offices, and ask them if they use bleach at home. They are wiser and know better!
Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40’s? It’s chlorine, folks!
Peroxide was invented during WWI in the 20’s. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals.
Please think about this:
1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.
2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.
3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.
4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.
6. Soak any infections or cuts in
3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.
7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and Water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without Harming your septic system like bleach or most other Disinfectants will.
8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.
9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.
10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it’s not a drastic change.
11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help get rid of boils, fungus, or other skin infections.
12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary. I know this works! The blood just bubbles out of the material like magic! I rinse it, do it again, rinse, repeat until the spot is nearly clear. Then put soap on directly and wash with rest of clothes!
13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.
14. Another place it’s great is in the bathroom, if someone has been careless & has wet on the floor around the toilet & it’s begun to smell of urine. Just put some peroxide in a spray bottle & spray. In the blink of any eye all the smell will be gone & the bacteria eliminated!
I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I’m glad there’s a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner! ‘ This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too.

It’s also good for after-swim drops for the ears, dries out the water and kills bacteria.
I was pleased with it.
I sometimes sanitize drinking water by using a few drops of Clorox. Kills all but the worst baddies (giardia and crypto) and breaks down into it’s key components in a short time.
“Can Clorox Bleach be used to disinfect water?
Yes. When boiling off water for 1 minute is not possible in an emergency situation, you can disinfect your drinking water with Clorox® Regular-Bleach as follows:
1. Remove suspended particles by filtering or letting particles settle to the bottom.
2. Pour off clear water into a clean container.
3. Add 8 drops of Clorox® Regular-Bleach (not scented or Clorox® Plus® bleaches) to one gallon of water (2 drops to 1 quart). For cloudy water, use 16 drops per gallon of water (4 drops to 1 quart).
4. Allow the treated water to stand for 30 minutes. Water should have a slight bleach odor. If not, repeat and wait another 15 minutes. The treated water can then be made palatable by pouring it between clean containers several times.”

I’ve done this quite a few times and suffered no ill effects.
The hysteria about chlorine bleach is highly overstated. And saying it is not healthy is just outright WRONG. Think of the lives that have been saved because cooking utensils, appliances, floors, counters, water, and everything else has been made sterile with bleach, quickly and easily.

Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy
There are two methods of taking hydrogen peroxide, orally and intravenously. Most medical conditions respond very well to oral ingestion of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy is also used as an alternative medical treatment for cancer. Hydrogen Peroxide is injected intravenously in very low concentrations (less than 1%) into the blood stream. The use of intravenous hydrogen peroxide was reported in 1920 during the influenza epidemic. Intravenous hydrogen peroxide infusion was used successfully used to treat pneumonia in the epidemic following World War I. Intravenous hydrogen peroxide cut the death rate of pneumonia in half.
In the 1940’s, Father Richard Willhelm, reported hydrogen peroxide being used to treat bacterial related mental illness to skin disease and polio. Father Richard Willhelm is the founder of “Educational Concern for Hydrogen Peroxide” (ECHO), a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public on the safe use and therapeutic benefits of hydrogen peroxide. According to the American Cancer Society: “there is no scientific evidence that Hydrogen Peroxide is a safe, effective or useful cancer treatment”. Tumor cells, bacteria, and foreign elements in the blood can usually be destroyed with hydrogen peroxide therapy. Surgery and chemotherapy destroy brain tissue. Intravenous infusion of hydrogen peroxide may be the greatest breakthrough ever for brain tumors. Intravenous infusion of hydrogen peroxide also helps pulmonary disease, gangrene, arteriosclerosis, aids, flu, asthma, cancers, etc. Chelation Therapy is a useful treatment and preventive for at least 80% of peripheral circulation problems but cannot clean out hardened plaque in the large heart arteries and the aorta. Hydrogen peroxide IV dripped into the leg and carotid vessels of patients with arteriosclerosis cleans the arteries of disease and plaque. When these patients died, autopsies compared the arteries that had been treated with H2O2 with those not treated. The separation of lipids from the arterial wall from the hydrogen peroxide had been accomplished. The plaque in the arteries was removed by injecting H2O2 into the blood vessels. The improvement was not temporary. Hydrogen Peroxide has been shown to dissolve calcium and cholesterol deposits in the body and stimulates peroxidase production.
Other proven methods of reducing arteriosclerosis and the build up of plaque in the arteries require the consumption of supplements. The oldest known method is the Pauling therapy, which uses the consumption of vitamin C (asorbic acid) and lysine. Consuming lecithin for fat emulsification, is believed to work because the elevated licithan levels help the body melt the accumulated plaque on the arterial walls. Serrapeptase is another supplement used to reverse arteriosclerosis. Niacin and niacinimide (B3) dilate blood vessels. Niacinimide has been shown to prevent and reverse Alzheimer’s.

Within minutes, oxygen from hydrogen peroxide begins to bubble up between the membrane lining, the lungs sacs and the accumulated mucus. The patient begins to cough and expel accumulated material in the lungs. The amount of bubbling, coughing, and cleansing can be regulated by simply turning the hydrogen peroxide on or off. As the hydrogen peroxide cleans the lung surface and destroys bacterial infections, the patient regains the ability to breath better. A complementary emphysema therapy uses DNA-Nucleotide Immunotherapy and Natural Microdose DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) Mucolyxir. I know of one guy who followed the advice in one of those Trudeau “things they don’t want you to know” books on drinking Hydrogen Peroxide but the book wasn’t clear (nor did it contain a good warning) about dilutions and strengths. Within a half hour of drinking some Peroxide, he was experiencing severe headaches and pain in all his joints. He was rushed to the emergency room and had his stomach pumped and major IVs to cleanse it out.
Basically, ingesting the wrong type, in the wrong doses, can be deadly. It damages blood vessels, can cause ulcers, and can form air bubbles in the blood that can kill you. Also, with the concentration of O2, it isn’t absorbed by red blood cells so it stays in the body as free radicals and can cause long term damage.
To put it simply, talk to your doctor. If it is suggested in any book like Kevin Trudeau’s books, consider just avoiding it.

My dog ate something poisonous. I forget what. The vet said to give her a shot-glass of hydrogen peroxide, and in five minutes she will vomit.
OK, so we went outside, I poured the peroxide down her throat. EXACTLY five minutes later, she was pukeing like crazy. And everybody lived happily ever after.
(It was a 110 lb dog)
Have a friend who is taking it, has been for quite a while. He is convinced. Like all such therapies, if one is eating properly, resting, exercising, relaxing, and generally living correctly, one shouldn’t need it on an ongoing basis. That said, there is a wealth of material on the subject, and plenty of folks have tried it. I have a fifty page pamphlet of articles, but I was not impressed. There was a lot of stuff very easily debunked because it had to do with acid rain, carbon, and enviro junk science, related to the reduction of oxygen in the atmosphere. The product was touted as a cure all for a great many things. Agricultural uses were also explained, as well as tests done with the product. Probably doesn’t hurt one to try it. Just not for me.
