I’m glad he finally came out in the open. Hopefully, this will put to rest his false reputation for being a “libertarian.” Santorum is the most statist Republican candidate running this time.
True; he really ought to switch parties and join his fellow nanny-staters.
I agree Santorum is a statist, and his rhetoric is more so than any of the other candidates running this cycle.
But by action and deed is he any more statist than Romney or Newt or even, when the donors beckon, Perry? Is anything he’s proposed worse from that perspective than Cain’s enterprise or opportunity or whatever they are zones?
On that count, I give Santorum bonus points, at least, for honesty in campaigning. He may be the only guy running whose rhetoric matches his record.
