Been doing this for years.
Don’t over fill the pot....just enough to cover the bird.
Make sure the bird is well thawed and as dry as possible.

And dont under fill the pot. Dont wait to make a run for oil when you realize its boiling when the knob is barely on and all the oil is smoking hot.
Thats how fires start too. Been there.....seen that done... put that fire out more than once.
