According to the Wiki

totality will be at 6:32 a.m. PST as the moon is setting on the water.

The bad news is that for the eastern part of the US, only the penumbral phase will be visible--and that may not be very noticeable. The umbra (where, from a viewer on the moon, the sun would be completely blocked) starts to creep across the lunar surface either after the moon has set or when it is just about to set for much of the US.

The good news is that the umbra will be visible in Umbria.

I plan to sleep through this one, but, will try to be up for the Geminids on the 11th/12th. The Moon will be terrible, but, if you go out and look, you might just see some very nice meteors.

Astronomy is fun, but, too much of it happens after my bedtime!
