I take a lot of crap about it but lobbying is a major source of problems in DC. The problem is that what goes on in DC is no longer just lobbying. Its one thing to advocate an issue but its another thing to work in a congressman's office to advocate an issue.
One example I dug up the other day was Jim McDermott. His entire staff came directly from the NEA and the NEA is one of his primary donors. That isn't lobbying, that's total control.
This is just the staffers Mostly GOP due to the fact that they're the majority.

People can cheer about Barney Frank going away but the reality is that he's unlikely to go anywhere.
