Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr. told a longtime friend that Eve Carson begged for her life and asked Lovette to pray with her just before he shot her five times with a handgun, according to the testimony of the friend Tuesday in Orange County Criminal Superior Court.

Her parents made a bit of a fuss about how they as well as Eve were against the death penalty. That is why the other conspirator got a plea deal for a life sentence.
