Union electricians no doubt. Incompetent goons.

SAN FRANCISCO — About 10 minutes before the Steelers-49ers game, the power at Candlestick Park went out and caused the entire place to go dark.

A transformer blew outside the stadium, according to a 49ers spokesman. The situation is being handled by city engineers. The problem is expected to be fixed in five to 10 minutes, the spokesman added.

Good thing they're in a Candlestick Park.

Don’t get ESPN - please provide play-by-play??

What was the score when play was suspended?? What quarter?? Down$Distance??

More seriously, any sign of panic among the crowd??

It happened ~15 mins before kickoff.

The game hadn't started.

EPSN claims there's no panic. Knowing it's in the Bay Area, the fans are probably stoned. And those from Steeler Nation are probably buzzed on the Arn City they brought along.

It was about 12 minutes prior to kickoff. An aerial view of the stadium showed a transformer blowing and the whole place going pitch black. The lights came back on after a few minutes. Lots of comparisons to the 1989 World Series when the earthquake hit. The start of the game is delayed and the stadium is on backup power.

ESPN showed a video of a transformer near the stadium exploding in a flash of blue light. ...then the stadium went dark.

The announcers are on overkill babbling about it could have been an earthquake but wasn’t, how does this affect the players, blah, blah, blah. Had to change channels. Couldn’t take the ridiculous smalltalk.
