Had a young kitty made the mistake of sleepin under the hood. He lost his tail one cool morning in the fan belt. Took him to the vet and he capped off Manx length. Called him Detail after that.

Yep. Trapped three mice who decided to live in my Grand Cherokee last winter, in addition to a few who were in the garage. This year, I set traps in the garage and in the Jeep. Not a single mouse. The word is out!

He's always happy. I'll be sure to post a pic when his new collar is done.

Yeah, we had a young grey shorthair that lost half her tail and one of her front legs to a fan belt. She got along just fine afterwards...didn’t seem to know she had missing parts.

It seems a familiar tale.

I feel I must explain “ winnie can lay a few more babies” .....
Remember this is coming from a 5 year old.
We also have a few laying hens. Since the hens “lay” eggs, then according to the kid, the kitteh’s also have to “lay” babies.
Gotta love the stuff this kid comes up with. Whadda hoot.
I pray for many blessings to come your way.

My late MIL had a Siamese cat, Loa, who loved to wrap herself around the coffee pot (an electric one, not the stove top kind), and sleep there. I don’t know how she never got burned, but if you were looking for her on a cold day, she would be cozying up to the coffee pot.
Thanks for the pings.

Try those rat trap sticky pads. Put a bunch on the ground under your car engine and maybe a few on top. Just watch your terrier don't get into them.

My husband started finding rat poop ON his dashboard and wires had been chewed. I set a trap inside his truck and after about 2 weeks I caught Mr. Rat (14” from nose to tip of tail). The poop continued to show up and a week later I caught MrsRat. The 2 had set up house keeping IN his truck and were preparing for a family. BARF!
The repair shop found a place where they had gotten in and closed it up.

Last year I opened the hood to see why my car wouldn’t start and found an entire cozy nest built in there. They’d torn up bits of insulation, paper trash, cloth, straw, and other soft things and were nicely established. There was rat poop EVERYWHERE in the engine. I’d smelled it when the car warmed up but it’s a very mild, inoffensive, unpooplike smell so it never dawned on me that that was what I was smelling. I had to feel sorry for the poor animals, just looking for a warm place to cuddle, but they did a great deal of damage to my car and it was a very costly problem to fix.

Raw bacon is good bait on a rat trap too. That is what I use and I have been extremely successful! :D
