What is going on with conservative coverage?
self

Posted on 12/23/2011 10:00:51 AM PST by ChinaGotTheGoodsOnClinton

I apologize for this vanity but I have got to ask: Am I the only one who thinks that the coverage of this payroll tax extension was such that there was NO WAY THE REPUBLICANS could come out on top of this?

Not only that but NO ONE INCLUDING CONSERVATE COMMENTATORS is noticing this?

Everyone is playing this like the “stupid Republican” screwed up again!

Again I expect this coverage from the media but what is surprising is no one is mentioning the coverage made it impossible for the republicans to win.

Boehner, Ryan and Cantor were talking until they practically needed resuscitation but their words got ZERO coverage.

We can criticize Boehner and the house Pubbies but really the way the press covered this there was no way to win this thing. We had better get used to this as this agreement guarantees this will come up every few months.

They might be expected to only renew this for a few weeks or days with coverage like this to keep this in news getting fawning coverage for the 'RATs!

They would have covered Kennedy’s accident like Teddie was helping a Chappaquiddick girl in trouble. With the coverage of this payroll extension, if I were Teddie up in heaven right now I’d be asking where is my award!?!

Am I losing my mind or did someone else notice this?

The fix is in. The big government types in “both” parties are eager to say that “the last vestiges of the old Republic have been swept away.”

Shep Smith on Fox was especially bad. His Liberal slant where ever he can get it in is obvious.

There’s no way they can win anything, because they don’t want to win.

They are socialists.

Honestly, do you think PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS are this utterly ****ing stupid?

This is kabuki theater, nothing more.

Nope - you are correct and it is beyond frustrating to those of us who are actually paying attention!

No matter how much the Tea Party types try to change things, if the majority of voters get their info from the talking heads of the MSM, then we will lose every time. A long time ago, FOX news actually covered the facts and their viewership soared....now, they are just about as bad!

And all the alternative media combined is mostly preaching to the choir. So, what do we do to change it?

Set aside political ideology and look at this from a tactical perspective. It was botched. There was no way the Dems could not outmaneuver us the way the House pubbies set it up. I think Boehner understood this, but felt when his caucus went against him he had to go with the caucus.

McConnell is a much better player and figured out how the end game would play out and decided not to play.

There is only one way to get out of this box. Win the Senate in 2012 And most important, win the White House in 2012. It's the only way out of the box the Dems can always put us in. We can't govern from the House alone. Deal with it.

But if the House pubbies don't stop looking stupid, we won't get anywhere next year.

Agreed. Newspapers ran entire front page stories that the republicans were opposing the tax cut extension, NEVER, not even in the back pages, mentrioned that republicans wanted a longer extension.

Thanks I was starting to wonder about my sanity. Media coverage can make the good seem bad and the bad seem good. For example look at the coverage of Kim Jong Dead’s passing.

I am trying to get ahold of Stein who is subbing for Rush. I think Rush if he were in would mention this.

But outside of him, no one else seemed to notice all the great things Cantor, Boenier or Ryan were saying.

Republicans - snatching defeat from the jaws of victory since 1854.

Yep, time to thrown them all out and start over with a new party.

The Democrat owned media works full time to promote Obama.
Republicans do not work full time to promote their agenda.
Republicans lack the will to fight a hard ruthless fight for what they believe. On the other hand, the Democrats will lie, twist, cheat, whatever it takes to win.

Disagree. With the media coverage the Pubbies lost in spite of doing everything right.

I agree. The question is what are we going to do. The state governments are following the in the feds foot prints. We have got to get more vocal or stop paying taxes....they can’t put us all in jail. If this next electiion does not produce elected officials that care for the country and its people, it will be time for a revolution.

Bring back the "Fairness Doctrine"? Then the MSM would have to give the conservative side.

Just sayin'...

Unfortunately, I don’t believe the majority of politicians have the will or the desire to fix what’s wrong with the system (this includes many Republicans). They continue kicking the can down the road.

The only realistic outcome is that the system collapses at some point in the not too distant future. What rises out of the ashes to take over is what is really scary.

Well it help if Rush or at least someone else noticed this. We can’t expect the LSM to notice Ryan, Cantor or the Speaking saying the right things until they needed resuscitation.

But the problem is that even conservatives are piling on the PUBBIES for being courageous.

I am losing my mind along with you. I rarely watch fox news but I caught a bit yesterday and was so frustrated to hear them spin it only from the liberal viewpoint. People like my parents sit and watch and no wonder a ll these people don’t mind Romney as our candidate! Fox is slanted left with a few tiny specks of conservatism thrown in like Waldo.

Fox and Friends? Mark Stein?

Again, all I’ve heard are conservatives piling on in spite of house Pubbies doing the right things.

On the few moments before they could cut the mikes, everything the speaker, Ryan and Cantor was saying made perfect sense.

Then they’d cut back to the wailing North Korean women saying that they were upset at the Republicans!
