CCW folks: I've been carrying a S&W Sigma .40 cal for a couple of years and it's just too heavy and bulky. Have looked at both the Taurus TCP and the Bersa Thunder .380 (I know, small, but that's kinda the point). Anybody got experience or recommendations?

But it is heavy, low cap, narrow sights and has a horrid DA trigger.
On the plus side, its tiny, dependable and the SA trigger rocks!
One of the best milsup bargains on the market.

I put the mag extenders on mine as well.
Gotta work on those sights with a little white paint next.

This is my pocket pistol. A Ruger LCP with a Arma Laser. The Arma Laser came with a free DeSantis pocket holster.
It is a very nice 380 and I recommend it.
I have a few Taurus pistols and would not hesitate to go with the TCP if you are so inclined. Whatever you do, I would recommend getting the stainless version because if it is in your pocket it will attract moisture. My LCP ended up with a tiny little rust spot in the spring return mechanism because I neglected to wipe it down after using it for two weeks. I usually wipe it down thoroughly once per week.

The truth is, if you need more than 6 rounds, you are in the wrong place and the wrong battle.
I know it's an old argument that will never be settled, but reality is most self-defense "fire-fights" involve only a couple of rounds. Thinking that you may be involved in WWII is not reality.

Opps, I meant P64. I like it better than the PA 64.
The PA 64 is lighter but bigger and has the same trigger issues, plus it kicks like a mule.

I am not familiar with the TCP, but I will say this.
Taurus makes a decent gun, and they have a lifetime transferable warranty.
They dont care how it broke, they will fix it for free.

Glock 19 with alternating ball and Federal Hollow Points in the mag. I carry with an inside-the-pant holster and hardly notice it.

You could buy a taurus from bob, with cash, run it over with a truck and send it in and they will fix it for free.

Sig p238. I’ve owned both the guns you mentioned and the sig tops them all.

LaserLyte now has a side-mount laser for the LC9, if the sights are an issue.
I carried the Taurus PT145 Milleniun Pro for awhile, until giving it to my son. I liked having a small .45 at hand.

The LC9 has excellent sights.
Did you find that Taurus satisfactory?

I was all over this gun and still think it’s really great, but since I already have a Glock 22 I went with the Taurus 740 so I can use the same ammo. A bit heavier but not much and it has a 3 inch barrel.
