City carved out of ice in China

The city in the Heilongjiang province in China first held its Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival in 1963, although it was interrupted for a number of years during the Cultural Revolution and only resumed in 1985.
The festival, which starts on January 5 and lasts for one month, is one of the largest of its kind in the world attracting thousands of tourists from across China.

If anyone ever has the opportunity to visit this incredible work of art, you will come away with a major question. That question is why a country with such creativity and love for beauty, want to rule the world. Other areas of the world want to take over and just destroy beauty and creativity of the human mind with violence. I know the history of China and how it keeps its thumb on its’ people, but I'm referring to the beauty of creativity.

IIRC, there is a resort that is all ice...or something like that.

Those guys were using electric ice shavers, front end loaders and snow making machines that are familiar to millions of Americans.
It takes skilled labor ~ not unlimited labor.
BTW, it's much less expensive to do "construction" using ice than just about anything else.
