Forgetting Gingrich’s inability to find a wife [til death do they part] I will say that without any real competition Newt is one of the greatest minds in government since Thomas Jefferson. I would go on to say that Newt could easily destroy Barack Obama in a debate with the right side of his brain tied behind his back. Obama would most be afraid of a Gingrich campaign. I even go as far as saying that Obama may refuse to debate Newt unless question are submitted prior to the debate.

Just watched a snippet of Newt praising Santorum’s positive campaign and hard work - very gracious.

Newt is out to sink Romney.

Man the torpedoes!!!!!!!!!!!

He says he is against amnesty/DREAM Act etc. He and Bachmann were the ones nipping at Perry’s heels for about 4 debates in September on the very issue. Not sure how he has voted. Good question. I didn’t look into it since he was irrelevant at the time.

Well Santorum 25 percent to Gingrich 13 percent. That is an easy one.
*********************************************

Well, nationally it's Santorum 6 to Gingrich 23. We shall see what happens now that it appears to be a three man race.

Oh lonestar, Santorum has very little baggage and it will take some search for finding anything. Homeschool for 100K (well over what it actually was), his ONE endorsement that nobody likes and his budgets that were passed with a Republican house with a Republican President is it.) You might be miserable now that Perry torpedoed but get behind Santorum because he has little baggage.

So you don’t think Gingrich is an establishment candidate?

Santorum's biggest problem is that he lacks charisma. He would be a disaster up against Obama. I'm afraid he would come across as Eddie Haskell.

No Obama is Eddy Haskel after joining the communist party, I just hope America see's it that way....

Perry was my guy. Now that he’s out, I’m not sure where to go. Not a fan of Mitt, Newt or Rooster Rick. Paul is batsh*t crazy and is a complete non-starter. Huntsman? Absolutely not. All I know is that regardless of who the GOP nominee is, I will vote for him against Obama.

We have a choice in 2012. Either we allow Obama to destroy the country or we vote for the GOP nominee. Maybe its a case where Obama is a bullet train headed toward the cliff at 300MPH and the GOP nominee is a bus headed toward the cliff at 50MPH... well, it would seem to me that slowing down the trip to the cliff would be the most logical choice... the fact is that you can’t stop the path we are on on a dime; we have to slow down before we can stop and reverse course.

I would hope that conservatives can take a page out of the democrats’ playbook and realize that when you can’t get everything you want, you take what you can get until the next election and ty again. But we won’t because we’re loaded with a bunch of idealogues who demand purity to ALL of our individual demands... which means that no one can please the conservatives and a bunch of them will either stay home or cast “protest” write in votes for Palin or Cain or someone else who is not running.

Well if it was a national race, I would give you credit but since it is state by state, those numbers mean absolutely nothing. I agree we will have to wait and see. I was just so disappointed in Newt’s speech last night. He blamed others instead of himself. He was pissed and let everyone know it.

It will be interesting to see how SC goes this year withour a stalking horse (now that Perry and Bachmann are out so are the conspiracy theories). If Mitt gets his 25% and Paul gets his 15%, that means either Santorum or Gingrich gets at least 30% and Mitt can’t win (also assuming Huntsman is irrelevant if still in the race).

That is what is beautiful about Santorum, nobody will stay home because he is our nominee. He is perfect for conservatives. I am so excited about this election and you should be. We FINALLY HAVE A MORAL CONSERVATIVE!!!!

I don’t have a problem with him going after Paul and Romney for the misrepresentations. REagan didn’t sit back and take the crap from Bush either.

Bush refused to debate Reagan at first. Reagan had to pay for a place and forum for the debates if you recall.

Politics is not a contact sport, but it’s more brutal than football. Newt is tough. He’s smart. He’ll think of something, then come out swinging.

I think it’s clear, no one in the establishment likes the guy, so he in turn owes them nothing. He’ll go to DC and aim for Obama.

I think Iowa results are great for Newt.

No, Gingrich is not an establishment candidate. He would drive the establishment crazy. They like their little gravy train and Gingich wants to change it.

...a Clinton-era retread who proclaims himself a third Roosevelt, with Taft’s waistline and twice as many ex-wives as the first 44 presidents combined; a lead zeppelin with more baggage than the Hindenburg; a self-help guru crossed with a K Street lobbyist, which means he’s helped himself on a scale few of us could dream of. For this the Tea Party spent three years organizing and agitating?

That means NO ON NEWT.

If the choice is between a syphilitic camel and Obama, the camel gets my vote. If Newt is the nominee, he’ll get my full support. I don’t see that happening however.
