I was a bit of a hotspur last night when I spoke up against removing our police department. Neighbors Speak Out on Police Dissolution Plan This picture must have been taken after I left as I am missing. No sooner did this man get up to speak, then my tones went off and I was out on calls to the wee hours of the morning.

Get to class you slackers! Vast is snowed under at work, I am subbing........and I expect your homework on my desk.

Please add a link to a current day newstory so I can catch up on the news of the day while grading papers. You won’t get much of a grade without the link! Carry on.

Hotspur - Sir Henry Percy, called Harry Hotspur.

"This match'd with other did, my gracious lord;
For more uneven and unwelcome news
Came from the north and thus it did import:
On Holy-rood day, the gallant Hotspur there,
Young Harry Percy and brave Archibald,
That ever-valiant and approved Scot,
At Holmedon met,
Where they did spend a sad and bloody hour,
As by discharge of their artillery,
And shape of likelihood, the news was told;
For he that brought them, in the very heat
And pride of their contention did take horse,
Uncertain of the issue any way.

Henry IV, Part I, Act One, Scene One.

Etiam non princeps sed usque ad genua, Principis Pacis!

Santorum is cool, he's no hotspur
He might just be our party's savior
Strong on values, the economy
Almost tied RINO Romney
Can't wait for the November encore

Hi, tioga, and thx for the thread! The word hotspur also puts me in mind of two warships, one historical and one fictional, the former a WW II era British naval vessel, and the latter a vessel of the same name in David Weber's Honorverse. I think there was also a ship of the same name in the Hornblower books. FWIW :-)
