This morning was the first time I shot a .460 S&W magnum round and I thought I would report my impressions: I like it.
350 or 360 grain? What gun?
I am looking at the S&W Governor for my concealed carry piece although I haven’t yet wrapped my hands around one. My P90 Ruger 9mm just doesn’t fit my hand very well and is a little too large for concealment. I like the automatic but am considering the revolver due to advertised size and the ability to fire either .45 or 410 ammo. If anyone has any first hand experience with this gun I’d appreciate your thoughts.

That looks the same as a Taurus Judge. I don't know about the S&W but I've read that the Taurus Judge is really just a close-in gun—not very accurate at a distance.
Since in Arizona I seldom wear a coat or any other heavy clothing under which I can readily conceal a handgun, I pocket carry a Taurus Ultralite .38 Special with a two inch barrel. Today I put some +P ammo through it for the first time and that little puppy really barked. Strangely, I didn't find the +P any more difficult to control than a standard round.
I rented a S&W .500 at a range a few years ago. I only put a box of 20 through it, but it was a blast (pun intended). I had a dull ache from my wrist to my shoulder for a couple of days. ;-)
I have a Ruger Super Redhawk in .480 I usually wait until the next day after going to the range before doing any typing.
Take a serious look at Browning Hi-Powers, their slim, hold 14 rounds and are a better fit for smaller hands. Carried one as a duty weapon for many years.
I got a Taurus 380 and an inside-the-belt holster. You can carry that concealed under shorts and a T-shirt. Got them at Guns Etc. Nice shop, good folks.
Their radio ads crack me up.
Yeah, me too. They are across the street from me.
I shall, thanks.
Smith&Wesson 329PD Scandium/Titanium 44 Magnum. It weights near nothing. Same thing: I LIKE it!
She’s a keeper (both gun AND wife!)
I once watched an episode of Gunny Ermey’s Lock’n’Load on the History channel where he reviewed the history of the handgun’s development.
In one of the segments he was firing a .500 S&W with the compensated shorter barrel. The moment of firing was recorded in slow motion and I swear it looked like his forearm bones were flexing under the recoil!
That is one hairy handgun!
My brother-in-law and my nephew were standing quite a ways back from me when I fired the 460 Magnum and they said they could actually feel the heat from the round.
My BIL is generous and let me fire the gun quite a few times. The ammo is not cheap.
I have a range in my yard. C’mon over!
