L'Blusha....I like that!

Downton Abbey is a beautiful story based in the early 1900's, beginning with the death of the heir to Downton dying on the Titanic. Downton is a beautiful historic home and the story is based on who will inherit now. Three daughters of marriageable age and a distant cousin who becomes the heir. The characters are amazing - Season one is probably available on line - season two just started - Sunday night 8pm and probably will replay before the second one this coming Sunday. This season is dealing with WWI and the changes happening culturally -

So, lots of swearing a nudity, then? ;-)

Do they have an Irish maid? I’m having a Margaret Schroeder deficiency.

I’m jealous. I haven’t seen any of those episodes. We got hooked on Who last year and have to wait for it to show up on free TV with Comcast because we don’t have BBC in our package. But we have umpteen stupid shopping channels.

Sunshine and 54 today, and warmer tomorrow-I must go find and drag branches for firewood out of the woods and cut them up before the next cold blast on Thursday-

Obama has dropped us off a cliff
With the weasel-words he’s spoken
The intricate tessera of economy
Have come loose, and some are broken

This uncertain ground underfoot
Has ruined the peoples’ trust-
Someone needs to replace the mortar
And sweep away all the dust

And get rid of Michelle Antoinette
With her fancy parties and such-
Send she and Barak back to Chicago
Where they won’t be so out of touch

Yeah, it’s nice to have the extra channels, but right now Time Warner here is locked in a dispute with MSG Network which carries the Sabres home and away; apparently, MSG is owned by Comcast, so they’re probably not too anxious to a give ground to a cable competitor. So, we have to wait and see who will blink first and how soon we can get to see further games — unless you change to dish which I prefer not to do.

You get way more for your money with Dish.

I should say DirecTV, not Dish per se — Dish Network already got screwed over by MSG last year regarding the Sabres games.

I still need the high speed broadband Internet for my work from home, so cable still is the best option here for that.

I traded cable for DirecTV even before we moved from the city because you got a lot more stuff for less money, so I have no idea what is offered on cable any more. There is no cable out here anyway-it is satellite or nothing. I get BBC America and both History and History2 with DirecTV, and I absolutely love that.

And I’ve had Dish Network since 2000 and would recommend to anyone who’s got a southern sky. What I like is having the east and west coast feeds for just about every network.

The only internet out here is one of several satellite providers-I have Hughesnet-or the slow dialup-there is no broadband-this is a REALLY remote area as far as common conveniences are concerned.

I’ve had DirecTV the whole time-I don’t even watch a third of what channels I get, and I get all the ones I want to watch-if HBO or Showtime has a series on that I want to watch, like the Tudors, Rome, I pay for that channel for the duration of the couple of months the series is on, and DirecTV sends me a coupon. When the series’ season is over, I call and cancel that movie channel, send in the coupon, and get 1/2 of what I paid taken off my next bill-then lather, rinse, repeat for the next season of that series-I like that.

The only thing theO family has in Chicago is that empty house. Daley won’t want to see them, as he is burned out after a year. The former governor Blagojevich isn’t planning their welcome back party.....I hear the “damn” reverend will make room in his crowded pews for them, but other than that? I am betting, aside from a theatrical return, they will never live there again. Hawaii or on the road? ....MO will be on the road traveling running up secret service bills for us to pay. Caviar and the good life.....yeah....she’s never going back. I can see her moveing to NY to become a senator, it’s been known to happen.

I’m guessing they will move to Hawaii-after all, I suppose he has family there still, the golfing is primo, the climate tropical, and there are lots of wealthy liberals there for them to party with.
