Newsweek Cover Story: 'Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?'

It seems almost impossible to believe, but the upcoming issue of Newsweek has a cover story entitled "Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?"

If you think we're kidding, the following picture was tweeted by @Newsweek three hours ago:

As you can see, the author is the supposedly conservative Andrew Sullivan.

Figures, doesn't it?

The Weekly Standard's Mark Hemingway wrote a few hours ago, "If in recent years it seems as if Newsweek has been descending into self-parody, it's still hard to imagine that this is real."

Indeed.

Is there anything the mainstream media won't do to get Obama reelected?

*****Update: Politico has some excerpts from the not yet published article...

“[I]t remains simply a fact that Obama has delivered in a way that the unhinged right and purist left have yet to understand or absorb. Their short-term outbursts have missed Obama’s long game … [T]he president begins by extending a hand to his opponents; when they respond by raising a fist, he demonstrates that they are the source of the problem; then, finally, he moves to his preferred position of moderate liberalism and fights for it without being effectively tarred as an ideologue or a divider. This kind of strategy takes time. And it means there are long stretches when Obama seems incapable of defending himself, or willing to let others to define him, or simply weak. I remember those stretches during the campaign against Hillary Clinton. I also remember whose strategy won out in the end.”

It is a choice they make. They choose ignorance, immorality, theft, misdirection, overt lies, deception, euphemism, and deceit in the name of godlessness to foment destruction of the Constitution of the United States of America and to destroy the American way of life. Other than that, liberals are fine.

As with Mark Hemingway, my first thought was that it was self-parody. Then I saw it was written by Raggity Andy and suddenly realized it was *unconscious* self-parody.

In what universe does the left reside? Not in our own. ‘I Won’ Obama is the most sickening partisan ever seen in American politics. To bozos like this, because he takes occasions like the Tucson shooting and in the process of making it partisan, utters some words against partisanship, he is some sort or wunderkind. Good lord.

Wow that paragraph is outrageous. Obama doesn’t offer his hand to anyone. He doesn’t meet with the opposition, he doesn’t even draft his own proposals. He just rammed through whatever Reid or Pelosi wanted.

I have to admit that I didn’t believe this story, so I had to go to the Newsweek web site to see it for myself. And, there it was: http://www.thedailybeast.com/content/newsweek/_jcr_content/c-col/oncover_0/image.img.jpg/1326688145842.jpg
