I remembering reading that in the book UNDAUNTED COURAGE and wondered what the heck it could be. I wonder if the “canon fire” could have been sonic booms but from what???
I thought it could be an avalanche they might not have seen.
Amazing book though. Its a shame that such a talented, pioneering man such as Lewis would take his own life.
