I believe the GOP used Pelozi's ethics investigations of Newt to force him out of the Speakers job and the Congress to get Dennis Hastert (Bob Livingstone was a temp with affairs problems) into the Speakers job so the GOP could spend like Democraps. Pelozi knew independents would abandon Republicans and put her in power because Republicans are held to higher standards. Right out of Saul Alinsky.

In war you don't always get the choice you want - you have to choose the least worst alternative. If we rigidly demand our way or the highway in a least-worst-choice scenario, well, we lose the war.
I'll add to that my comments about the GOP:
I wonder how long the GOP has been a soft Liberal party. I believe Reagan stole the party back from the Liberals ("moderates") in 1980. Eisenhower allowed taxes and government to grow crazily in the 50's. How far back do you have to go? I think sometime in the late 1800's/early 1900's, America found itself without a political party that would put America and its Christian, traditional values first. I think ever since then the GOP has put its own interests and political perpetuation ahead of what's best for America.
The country has withstood an amazingly long period of time without sustained organizational and institutional support. May God Himself continue to bless and uphold America against her enemies, within and without, until He returns for His own.

Well, I’m going to say something that’s probably not going to earn me any friends with the Newt folks.
Actions have consequences. Cheating on your wife, leaving her in the dust, and trading her in for a younger model, isn’t going to exactly endear her to you, or to conservativism. She probably can’t divide the two, whenever she sees Republicans, she sees Newt.
From what I can see, she really loved Newt, and cared for him. I’ve been there, when folks decided that I was just a bump on the road, someone to hold onto before you move onto someone better on your way up, it’s not a nice feeling.
This is part of the reckoning for Newt, Newt’s going to have to deal with it. The best response for Newt would be to go up and say yeah. I deserve it. I deserve everything that she has to say about me.
So please, ABC, give her all the time she wants if that gives her comfort. Because she hasn’t said anything that I haven’t already said to myself.
And end it there.
That’s really the best thing that Newt can say from this point. So take it from this Santorum supporter, what you will.
Now it's simply a matter of waiting to see who wins the nomination.

Dunno. Likely we (as conservatives) will be facing wartime least-worst scenarios. It seems few like it but I hope we're willing to deal with it.
