In 50 years, we went from “and Father knows best” to commercials based on how stupid dads/men are.
What happened?
Right! But, if you notice, even Father Knows Best makes the Mom and kids seem "smarter" than Dad. The upside-down stuff was starting even back then. "Let's make Father think it's HIS idea." Yes, that's the ticket. The attack on the family and fathers has been going on for a lot of the 20th Century.
