Word For The Day, Tuesday, January 24, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
hypophora
-n
Hypophora, also referred to as anthypophora or antipophora, is a figure of speech in which the speaker poses a question and then answers the question.
Am I from Boston, and Do I luv da Broons? You Betcha!
damn - that’s pretty cool! I had no idea...
You could be right...
OMG he is such a dang pansy!
I don’t believe it one bit. The man had some work done and due to his ugliness to begin with and his age, it is taking him longer to heal.
you are totally right, no way in the world he is playing hockey anywhere. and CHIN correction? he’s not playing without a dang helmet that’s for sure.
Was he wearing his purple heart?
I’d believe a windsurfing accident before I’d believe hockey.

exactly.

u know i luv u ; )
a year to give a few homilies that will get the liberal Catholics in line and vote this bum out.
Tonights State of the Union address will be an example of the overuse of Hypophora, with an inept Noncompoop settup up his own strawmen as Republican positions, and knocking them down as ‘the most brilliantest man in a room’ as I heard a niece say.
No, a year so no repercussions happen till after the election.
We’re watching hockey instead of the speech but may have to Tivo Paul Ryan’s response.
