No. All charges were dropped. What the lawyer screwed up was that Gingrich had to pay for his own witch hunt.

Ethics Committee Drops Last of 84 Charges Against Gingrich

The speaker's office issued a statement noting that yesterday's dismissal of the last three charges means that 83 of the 84 ethics allegations filed by Democrats have been dropped.

The 84th was the IRS allegation and it too was dropped.

All charges were dropped.

I know. But that's not the main message the average voter will take away from all that. If Newt is our nominee (and there are really no other options at this point), all the voter will hear is this: Newt Gingrich was accused of ethics violations, and he resigned.

That's quite damaging.

As an aside, I find it very discouraging that conservatives resign when under pressure (Palin, Gingrich, Cain) while liberals fight back, and win (Ted Kennedy, Clinton, Barney Frank).
