For about an hour now, I have not been able to access yahoo or google. Get a "navigation has been canceled" or "page not found" message, and diagnostics indicate that the DNS server is not recognizing the web sites. However, I can get to Bing and Free Republic just fine, among other sites.
Just wondering if this is a local problem or a more general one...

Both work fine for me.
If you are on Windows close your browser and then go to START and then RUN and type in
ipconfig /flushdns
and then click ‘OK’ and then start your browser again. I bet it’ll be just fine after that.

Works fine for me.
Are you logged in?

Tried that. Didn’t work. But now I know it’s some type of local problem. Did update Internet Exploder yesterday, but had no problems until today.
Oh well, thanks all for the info.

I’m having the same issue. No problems navigating to FR (obviously), and I can get to Twitter just fine. But not to Google, Blogger or Gmail (all Google sites).
I’ve tried all the suggestions offered here, but no luck so far.
Weird.

Good idea. Tried it, though, and didn’t work.
Also having the same problem using Google Chrome.

Yes same problem. Not a browser issue, because problem persists with both Firefox and Chrome. Only Google sites (Goole, Gmail, Blogger) seem to be affected.
Problem only began for me about an hour ago.

Same symptoms. Went through that drill for two hours yesterday 8 a.m. PST.
No problems since.
