Excellent pics! The other day my wife asked me about a bird on the trunk of an apple tree. It was a red-headed woodpecker like the one you have in your pics. Taking a picture would be tough as he was jumping all around the tree. I've seen them before but think they only come down here during the winter.

Did you happen to see the program that featured cranes that fly over the Himalayas to migrate to India? It was on the other day. Amazing story and the photography was superb. Pretty neat to be in a place where migratory birds head for winter. By March, there'll be hundreds of Canadian geese overhead on their way back north. It's a sight to see and hear. Wave after wave for a few weeks.

That one is a Red Bellied Woodpecker. Red seems to be a favorite color for woodpeckers.

As a bird lover I always so enjoy your photos. You bring out different views and intensities in birds. I love that fluffy red headed duck. So cute!

I also love bugs, so thanks for the bug pictures. I have seen some unusual bugs in my day and wish I could get pictures of some of them like you do.

Gorgeous pictures! Love the rooster! I had forgotten how beautiful their feathers are.
This is just what I needed this morning. I wasn’t really ready to get out of bed or turn on a light, but the dreams were too annoying.
Keep posting your old stuff - it’s all so good.
